PG Down Under 2025 is the fourth annual conference dedicated to PostgreSQL developers, users, and enthusiasts in Australia and New Zealand. This event provides a platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and professional networking. The conference will be held on October 17, 2025, in Sydney, Australia.
PostgreSQL Down Under Incorporated (PGDU) is a non-profit association committed to supporting the growth and education of PostgreSQL, the world's most advanced open-source database, across Australia and New Zealand.
We invite you to submit proposals for talks covering a broad range of PostgreSQL-related topics. PG Down Under welcomes submissions from PostgreSQL professionals, application developers, DBAs, operations engineers, decision-makers, and PostgreSQL contributors of all experience levels.
We offer five sponsorship tiers, each with varying levels of brand visibility and engagement opportunities:
We invite enterprises using PostgreSQL or providing PostgreSQL-related support and services to join us as sponsors. The PostgreSQL Patron is a sponsorship package aimed at businesses that want to show their support to the PostgreSQL community, while gaining recognition as a valued contributor to the event.
The sponsorship prospectus is available on the conference website.
We encourage open-source-focused talks. While we welcome discussions that involve PostgreSQL in managed services or commercial products, your content should be primarily open-source-centric. Sales pitches will not be accepted.
All submissions are reviewed by the talk selection committee based on abstracts, titles, and submission notes. Each member of the program committee votes on every submission and assigns a score. Program talk selection committee abstain from voting on submissions for their own submissions. When a presenter has multiple submissions, the committee selects the topic that best fits the conference to ensure a diverse range of talks and speakers.
The talks are sorted by their average score, and the final selection is made during committee discussions, focusing on the highest-rated submissions.
Selected speakers will receive free entry to the conference.
We kindly request presenters to share their presentations. Audio and video recordings of the lectures may be published in various formats under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, which permits commercial use by media institutions for reporting purposes. If you prefer your lecture materials not to be published or streamed, please indicate this in your submission.
